Sculpture in Skye

— 'Sculpture in Skye' is a sculpture based on the idea of the female body as a form, and the various shapes created which reassemble the characteristics of the female body. Taking separate aspects of the body that are traditionally feminine such as the curves and hips, these parts are then put back together, creating an abstract expression of the female form.

The female body is intentionally objectified here – with no face or personifying features – however, the intention is not to objectify in a sexualised manner. Rather, the intention here is to celebrate the female body from a purely aesthetic perspective, drawing the focus to the shape created as opposed to the body itself.
